Appeal Ruling # 55 22 December 2020

The appeal relates to a decision of the Competency Assessment Board to decline an application for renewal of registration. The panel concluded that the case was marginal and that the applicant had not adequately demonstrated competence to undertake complex engineering. The panel did, however, consider there were factors outside of the applicant’s control and accordingly renewed his registration from the date his previous term expired until a date soon after the date of the decision, providing a reasonable opportunity to reapply.
